Haiku Series: Asana I

Hay una obra por serie que declara. No la elige el autor: lo elige a él. Asana I es esa obra en Haiku Series. El cuerpo recogido, la pausa, la quietud que no es reposo sino disciplina. Un gesto mínimo, una respiración larga. Shizukesa: la primacía de lo omitido sobre lo mostrado. Treinta años trabajando el método giclée enseñan una cosa sola. El archivo es infinito, y por eso no es de nadie. El sustrato decide. La impresión sobre algodón no conserva un instante: lo funda.

Every series has one work that declares. The author does not choose it: it chooses him. In Haiku Series, that work is Asana I.

The body folded inward, the pause, a stillness that is not rest but discipline. A minimal gesture, a long breath. Shizukesa: the primacy of what is omitted over what is shown.

Thirty years of working with the giclée method teach one thing. The archive is infinite, and therefore belongs to no one. The substrate decides. A print on cotton paper does not preserve an instant: it founds it.
